Initial certification. Hawaii has no long-term care training requirement in effect. The producer-training section of Hawaii's LTC insurance law (HRS 431:10H-106.5) only takes effect a year after the state enacts a long-term care partnership program, and Hawaii has not done so, so no initial course is required before you sell LTC insurance in Hawaii.

Carriers may still require their own LTC product training before you sell: confirm with yours.

Renewal. Hawaii requires no ongoing long-term care training. The 4-hour, every-24-months rule written into HRS 431:10H-106.5 is dormant because Hawaii has not enacted a partnership program.

Initial certification. Hawaii has no long-term care training requirement for non-resident producers. The producer-training section of Hawaii's LTC insurance law (HRS 431:10H-106.5) is not in effect because it depends on a long-term care partnership program that Hawaii has never enacted, so no initial course is required to sell LTC insurance in Hawaii.

Carriers may still require their own LTC product training before you sell: confirm with yours.

Renewal. Hawaii requires no ongoing long-term care training from non-resident producers. The 4-hour, every-24-months rule written into HRS 431:10H-106.5 is dormant because Hawaii has not enacted a partnership program.
