Initial Certification Requirement:
An initial 8-hour NAIC long term care training course which includes 2-hours of Virginia Partnership training. The 8-hour course must be approved by the VA DOI.
Virginia allows resident producers to take a Virginia 8-hour NAIC Partnership course, or they may take an 8-hour NAIC Partnership course from another state to fulfill 6 of the required 8-hours of NAIC Partnership Training. If a course is taken from another state, the producer must also take a 2 hour VA Partnership course.
Virginia has adopted partial training reciprocity for 6 hours of NAIC Partnership training. This means that non-resident producers may take a Virginia 8-hour NAIC Partnership course OR they may take an 8-hour NAIC Partnership course from another state and a 2 hour VA Partnership course.
Refresher Certification Training:
Virginia requires a 4-hour course every 24 months. This training requirement is for both resident and non-resident producers.
Effective October 24th, 2012 - Virginia resident agents who fail to complete the ongoing 4 hours of training within 24 months (to the DAY) must again complete the eight hours of initial training.
What do the Version A and Version B mean? LTC renewal training must be completed every 2 years. Most states will not allow the same CE course to be repeated during a single compliance period or the subsequent compliance period. We strongly advise that you alternate between the online versions in order to ensure you can earn CE credit towards your license renewal. If your last course was completed in the classroom or you have never taken a course with us before, choose Version A. If you are still unsure about which course to take, check your history under "My Courses" or contact customer support.
